Seatbelt Tongue Measurements (Tesla, Volkswagen, Kia)

I am looking for couple of seat belt extensions to make someone's life easier.

I weigh over two hundred pounds, and "the" someone does over three hundred.

As some helluva chubby bastards (in an Asian country),

it is quite a hassle to get the seat belt clicked.

Wanted to get some extenders, looking all over the internet for the cheapest solution,

and only to find out that automotive manufacturers decided NOT to unify the sizes.

Well, I wanted the lowest cost solution, so I added Jack Conte's Thrift Shop remix.

(Basically, it's got nothing to do with this article.)

Could not manage to find any reliable sizes for my & "their" cars,

I am forced to do it manually, by myself.

(Learned that the metal clip with a hole in the middle of delta belt is called "Seat belt Tongue")

OW: Outer (square) Width

IW: Inner (square) Width

OD: Outer (square) Depth

ID: Inner (square) Depth

Bld: Blade thickness

conclusion first.

If you want to see the size data then you are done,

here we go.

DrFr: Driver's side Front Seat

PsFr: Passenger's side Front Seat

DrRr: Driver's side Rear Seat

CnRr: Centre Rear Seat

PsRr: Passenger's side Rear Seat

I assume the driver's side seat has the same sized buckle tongue as the passenger's and the fronts and rears, too.

But who knows, I checked

Tesla (Model 3 2022)

I had to ask my father to grab a ruler then take some measures in his model 3 for me.
Thanks dude.

It's a bit crooked. I'm aware of that.

Guess it's the same.

I will do this again, with an accurate tool, when mine gets back in my hand.

I believed all of the centre buckles are different from other seats' in every car.

Yet again, further investigation is ahead to make this to be precise.

Volkswagen (Golf MK7, 2013 - 2018)

Well I'll be damned. I never knew I can do that.

First, they uses the exact same tongues on every buckles.

Second, Volkswagen uses the same tongues with Tesla.

Kia (YP Carnival, 2018)

Kills in Action, no matter of seat belts

Probably Hyundai uses the same.

Maybe later. I'm not even bothered.

2018 Tesla Model 3 "Oreo" Build Thread

Hello Tesla Owners, Friends, and Enthusiasts! I'm putting together a journal of my Model 3, named "Oreo". I'm coming from an Audi S4 and put together a thread which was a lot of fun so I'm doing it again. See link for the Audi here: New S4 Owner – upcomin

Seat Belt Extenders for Rear Seats?

I'm looking for seat belt extenders for the rear seats of my wife's Model 3. My twins are in booster seats and it is very difficult to buckle the existing belts with booster seats in place. I tried these extenders from Amazon but they seem to be the wrong

it wasn't just me.
